More like...........Q Tip SAID Saigon is Top 5 Alive. This is from several years ago when Sai appeared to have a chance and was on the comeup. Said as in past tense, much like Sai's career, sad to say as I was stannin for a minute.

and now we are at the point where papoose is re-igniting his buzz through music and saigon is doing the opposite.

maybe thas why papoose didn't list saigon as a feature on hoodie season :manny:

was stannin for a minute.

your still stannin cuz that sh!t wasn't no 4 and a half.

I was gonna say he samples this on the 2007 version of TGSNT that he put out independently.

And another thing..Sais first album is better then any Jada solo yet no one would argue against Jada being top 5 alive....do u see the difference??

the last Kiss >>>> saigons albums

and I was a big saigon fan but his current position in the game is being a joke

I will say this though, thanks for bringing it up cuz I'm listening to Welcome to Saigon right now on the strength of this thread.

yeah homey is stanning ridiculous but he has to save face since his hero is c00ning it up under mona.

mission accomplished though because I realized I never herd none of the bonus joints from sais debut.

I judge MCs on overall performance but saigons last appearence on papoose mixtape last month was dssapointing

good point with lord have mercy too. I thought camron was top 5 in 97'. then he dropped confessions lol

now he's a reality show rapper. this year's consequence. a shame

Naa......Sai hasn't played himself out on that show so far but Peter Gunz has.

To be top 5 alive you got to be better than KRS-One, Rakim, Nas, Jay, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick Kool G Rap and people like that, not many can say that.

Q Tip must have felt Saigon was better then those names

I've only heard his debut album and thought it was great, but not amazing. Which mixtapes should I cop?

Yardfather 1

Yardfather 2: On The Go back

Warning Shots

DJ Drama & Saigon - Welcome to Saigon Mixtape

Return Of The Yardfather

All In A Days Work

Abandon Nation & Moral of The Story are also decent mixtapes

Jay and Nas said it to. Saigon just came out to late. If he didn't get locked up and came out a few years before things would be different. If Jay or Nas came out when Saigon did things would also be different. It's all about timing. 50 came along right at the end that's why his run didn't last that long. Now we got all these wack ass southern comedians who are having their run.

i never understood the whole Saigon hype.

To me, He was always a Beanie Sigel or Freeway class rapper than a Hov and Nas one.

who cares what Q-Tip said.

LOL.....This is coming from the same person who said hip hop would immediatly get better if Irv Gotti was back in the game

MTV said he was more a mix of Ice Cube meets Nas meets 50 Cent.

This is another cop out response because your making these statemnets based on what you feel...Not what Q Tip said. You're saying Q Tips words arent relevant in 2013 because Saigoin didnt blow up like u wanted....But blowing up has nothing to do with Q Tip stressing the "depth in his words"....Sai hasn't fallen off lyrically and still put out a great album...regardless if it didnt break mainstream. Its a cop out response because Q Tip said those words when Sai had no album out......so what difference would it make if Q Tip was more focused on Sais words...while your focused on Sais current position in the game...Those are 2 different things.

And another thing..Sais first album is better then any Jada solo yet no one would argue against Jada being top 5 alive....do u see the difference??

Better than jada's last defjam album,...fukk no!
Lyrically, that is the most well put together mainstream technical submission.
with a course and the lesson in the skill of cadence album.

Saigon does not do that,....

for the record, Freeway and Sigel are nice.:manny:

along with Z-ro, The Jacka the Mob Figaz, Jay Rock, and ect are all nice rappers that belong in the same class with Free, Saigon, and Sigel as well.

but they were laced with angle dust for putting him in the same sentence with Cube and Esco.
