I really do like Saigon, he's one of my favorite but he just came in wrong place at the wrong time. He keep dropping hot shyts and I can see why Q-Tip says it.
This song is just f*cking genius
Dope song.

My 05-07 top 3 in the game in no order:
Saigon
Lupe
Budden
*Downloading tracks for people and randomly putting Sai and Joey tracks in the middle*
Sai was just a few years too early.
My bad...U must have thought I wanted to turn this into a Tical vs Purple Haze convo....
What I meant was you actually have some audacity to take away from Saigon who has an album with a song stressing to'do away with the drugs in the neighborhoods' and black on black violence to inject that Jadakiss has better product even tho his album is filled with drug dealing references and Black on black violence and U actualy justifying it by focusing on lyricism. You'll have to do better then lyricism to convince me that an album filled with songs promoting the destruction of the Black community circa 2009 - 2011 outdoes an album that stresses fixing up the community.
Its funny you say that because no one ever says that about Bob Marley who was way worse. I guess according to you Bob Marley was an embarrassment as well.
we aint talkin about bob marley tho, who wasn't featured saying whatever on a reality tv show. you not gonna move the goalposts on this, dogg. Its funny you say that because no one ever says that about Bob Marley who was way worse. I guess according to you Bob Marley was an embarrassment as well.
Why all the deflection,....
also,...
Both rap from a first person perspective when it comes to crime.
So, how can you put one above the other.
when both take some responsibility with their content in some form.
Saigon, is similar to jada .
The both use a cautionary tale when it suits them.
or their scope/agenda or content.
Then, go and have a series of life based fukkery style events that speak differently.
both use content for when it serves them.
You make it as though jada does not make a series of songs that question why things are the way they are.
Plus, on that very album.
He added to that type of record and made another in the series with, I tried.
I judge people by their actions.
Neither, sai nor jada can pull the virtue card.
So, I don't put sai above jada.
as, sai is no more a righteous than jada, as an actual person.
You try to make sai out to be one man army in comparison to jada and that is not the case.
When, lo is really what sai is about all they way and they share, a similar type of backstory.
As far, as incarceration goes.

Tip said this back when Saigon arguably was top 5. this is from like 2003 or 2004.

My dude....You said Jada's 3rd album was better then Sais first. And you used lyricism as your argument But Jada already had 2 lyrically dope albums rapping about coke and gunz prior to that 3rd one. In circa 2009-2011 hearing Jada rap about coke and gunz was overdone. Plus some of the production on that album was so so and Jada was 0-3 in making that classic album we all been waiting for since 2001. For Jada to reach album #3 and still not pull out that long expected classic deducts points it doesnt add them. On the other hand the production on Sai's first was near flawless....You mentioned what the original Ticals album woulda sounded like....God only knows how that original "Greatest Story Never Told" sounds like. Then there is the matter of content which for the most was in a manner of upliftment even with Sai being lo which he doesnt even put at the forefront of his image. You see that my dude is what was neccessary circa 2009 - 2011 not another album of coke and gunz. Plus anyone who was waiting for Sai's album can bare witness that it was actually worth the wait unlike Papoose's debut. Where as Jada still couldnt hit that classic expectation by his 3rd album. So Sai's first LP gets the edge for production and content over Jada's 3rd. You being someone who stresses the "culture" I dont see how you can put well crafterd overdone drug/gun lyrics over social awarness content with quality verbal execution.
2006....But seriously....who new has come in the game since 2006 that had an impressive set up such as Saigons? The list stil has relevance

nope, he on a reality show c00nin enforcing negative stereotypes. never seen bob marley doin the "bust it out" pose on my tv celebratin pluckin off two birds (NOPE! SAIGON DID THAT BUST IT OUT, DOUBLEFIST GRIND PUMP. HE DEEEED IT). you show me marley doin that and maybe we'll talk about him.We are talking about Bob marley because i threw him in the mix......Bob Marley acknowledged his kids with other BMs which is similiar to Saigon acknowledging his kids with other BM's. They both acknowledged their kids openly. All I'm saying is that if what Sai did is an embarrissing moment for Blackmen then what Bob Marley did was 10 X embarressing because Bobby was married....Saigon isn't. In 2013 a Blackman who has a bunch of kids outside of his marriage would be considered a "dog"......so if you are standing by your cemment about Saigon being an embarresment then you should also acknowledge Bob Marley as a bigger embarressment.
