I had no idea that if you are born a true Qatar citizen, you are practically rich.

There's nothing official so far. Also, the death totals posted around are the deaths of all Indian/Nepali workers present in Qatar, whether they worked on those stadiums or not and any type of death.

But yeah, corruption is running wild in FIFA. There's a report that South Africa got the WC despite losing in voting to Morocco

Only 14% of the population are actually Qatari. That 14% is basically has millionaires with free services, education, etc... not all Qataris are rich but if you're close to the royal family, you obviously are.

Most Qataris I've met have taken advantage of the education opportunities and studying abroad. Let's just say they get generous stipends. The kids at my university back in like 2007-2009 were getting $5,000 a month to study in Maryland.

Almost 86% of the population are foreigners who range from the poor migrant workers from South Asia to cacs from Europe/America to Africans and other Asians who are more educated than your average Qatari. Foreigners make up 94% of the workforce. Depending on the type of foreigner you are, you may also get free services, education, healthcare, etc... I know some Somalis who have been living in Qatar since the 80s and they have all the free services based on them getting residence from the royal family. Same thing in Abu Dhabi, my aunt got a free crib and everything there cause the Amir loved Somalis and got land in Somalia and exchanged it by offering free stuff to Somalis there.

I think Kuwaiti citizens get like $250k a year just for being citizens.

I dont get it though.. all these bids/deaths/attention to an organization (FIFA) that has DECADES of history of the places they choose to go to, never turning a profit, instead losing billions and having run down stadiums after.. why do countries want this so bad ? There has to be some 007 Quantum of Solace type shyt going on that we dont see or know about.. I cant rationale it any other way..

Because as much as the countries do not like it and the debt they take on. A lot of people and construction companies make a ton of money from bribes and FIFA themselves.
