The best thing Havoc told Prodigy was to stay away from the QB goons. Havoc himself didn’t fukk with them like that (which makes him plugging Lakey’s book even more weird) Prodigy instead tried to be friends and ingratiate himself into acceptance. Which from one point I can see but when the shyt went down with Sherm The Worm that should’ve been Prodigy’s gangsta wake up call. Prodigy couldn’t be Nas. He couldn’t be Hav. He couldn’t be Cormega. He was QB adjacent, affiliated, adjoining. He was never going to be “one of them” no matter how much love he showed or how dope his rhymes were (and he was amongst the best ever)

QB is a fukked up place with fukked up street politics that just so happens to have produced the most talented rappers and producers the world has ever seen. That environment is crazy, and maybe in its own fukked up way it helped Prodigy become what he did because he worked so hard to get everyone’s respect.

Nas told Prodigy the same shyt, be careful tryna befriend these dudes and these were Nas people he was warning P about, but he aint listen

Crazy because P was one of the main ones who actually put on for QB and repped it right.

Salute to P for not running away like a Cur after Sherm sucker punched him. Most cats would have ran away in fear and never came back.

That whole Lake, Sherm & Prodigy shiit was started by Ice. But for whatever reason Prodigy couldn't see it. I know Lake said he had Sherm punching knots in Prodigy head, but if you listen to Sherm's story, Ice told him to do it.

Folks was saying nas' verse on Kanye's "Still Dreaming" was about Lake
At one point, every lyric about by QB rapper was about another QB person.

That's why people being mad at P's book made zero sense. Do y'all even listen to y'all own rhymes? CNN, Trag, Mobb, Littles, Goodfellas crew, Screwball, Nature, Delorean, Killa Kidz, ...then all of them calling Nas this and that saying he's telling their stories.

For those of us from NYC, who have been to QB and know people there, everyone knew that Lake was wild.

In the 90's, it was just known that if you got down with him and his business on the block, your whole life would never be the same. Dude would shoot up corners in broad daylight, if he saw someone he didn't like, lol. I always said Capone's music career would've been way different if he didn't get caught up with Lake so young.

We used to go out there all the time to pick up this girl that we knew who rhymed, in QB. She lived in Craig G's old building. We would sit out on the benches and eat Chinese food, cool out and just smoke. But you had to constantly have your head on pivot because at any moment there could be mad shots flying all over the place, lol. Lake had that whole block fighting over corners and shook. QB in the 90's was something else. Straight craziness.
