KC is one of the first places the original sets from the west went to. I'm talking, early 80's. When I spoke on middle school, it was mid/late 80's. I'm damn near 40.

This is also why, years later, random ass west coast rappers pop up in KC, just to hang out. Yukmouth, C-Bo, most infamously Mac Dre, etc. A bunch of people over the years.

Nobody was running around KC claiming streets from the west though....they might have initially, when the guys from the west first put them on. But I never heard of it.

Fred.

Hex is 100% right ....

The Crack Cocaine hustle of the 80s fueled the migration of CRIP and BLOOD SETS and OGs to the Midwest

Because the money and market share was too lucrative for them to ignore so they became mobile

Michael Harry O Harris is a prime example of this via a network of bounty hunter bloods he was able to penetrate areas of the united states that most gang bangers would never see

DJ Quick documented this in his song

'Jus like Compton' where he refrences midwest cities who resemble Compton as far as gang banging

Even the media took note with the HBO document art BANGING IN LITTLE ROCK

Larry Hoover took it even further when he assimilated Midwest crip sets into his GD NATION known as the 8 ball alliance throughout the Midwest and south

That's why u have Crip 'hybrids" like Jeezy who claim Crip but swear loyalty to Larry Hoover
