The misinformed think 1080p 60fps is some magical thing only high end hardware can achieve. In reality it just comes down to dev priorities. All games could be 1080p 60fps if that's what devs/consumers wanted.

So what? Had the devs wanted to they could have added more graphical bells and whistles and ran the game at lower resolution/framerate.

The idea of it being a standard for MODERN games is what people feel should be next gen....at least 1080p so the game can match ur tv's resolution....

As I said its always a choice. There is no "standard" and never has been and it definitely has nothing to do with "next gen"

Its what they choose to give u on consoles...u ain't got no choice...if people ain't care...it wouldn't be such a big deal as it's been lately....Honestly the smart medium for consoles if u wanna show off graphics is 1080p/30fps for singleplayer...scale back some things in multiplayer and make it 1080p/60fps...
