S/o to Guru and Ali, and presidents are usually black Obama says hi.

Again, would Illmatic and 36 Chambers sound as good if they didn’t have that deliberate dirty sound? Is hazy reverb heavy dream pop albums wackly mixed? I know that’s what the faux engineers would say. They don’t understand that people might want to achieve a certain sound and that the objective isn’t always to make shyt sound like a billion dollar pop album. A good example is weekends trilogy, first mixtapes versions are by many preferred to the “well mixed” commercialized version.

What has anything got to do with being dumb? That’s just your inferiority complex. I just find it funny when people talk as much about the so-called mixing as the actual music.
I agree on the deliberate sound argument, but I have to say that the album sounds muddy as fukk. Really don't like what mike dean is on to these days :scusthov:

Y'all acting like Quavo is the reason this is trash :pachaha: Nobody can make a good song with Travis Scott

:gucci:

Travis has had EXCELLENT songs with Quavo before...and Young Thug, Big Sean, TI, ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, Chief Keef etc.

Act like Oh My, Dis Side or Pick Up the Phone doesn't exist brehs...

But what I'm worried about is that Travis has been heading into a more generic and overly melodic trap route since Birds album and I hope Astroworld is not a continuation of this recent trend.

Meanwhile, Quavo has forgotten how to rap. He's been slowly declining since 2014 and the No Label 2 mixtape. All he relies on is the autotune singing in his verses and his hooks, which he has mastered at this point.

So this collaboration effort between the two was always gonna result in disappointment imo.

Go and Where U From are the standouts

The rest is pretty average. I mean, tracks are decent but they just all blend into each other. Overall, pretty forgettable. Without Warning was a better collab project than this imo.

Travis was especially average on this...and Quavo is no longer capable of spitting pure bars.
:snoop:

Quavo never had bars :russ: he’s always been all flow, nikkas finally getting tired of it

LOL deliberate dirty sound. It’s called no budget for debut albums and analog recording. There is a reason why most albums from that era get remastered. What’s the point of enjoying music if it sounds muffled and low in quality. Especially with the fidelity of speaker now

Great observation, imo.

Scott definitely wants to become more mainstream. He's not taking risks nearly as much. And "Butterfly Effect" was a hit so....even though I fukk with that song...that standard trap radio sound seems to be what he's on. Hopefully all of this is just to draw more eyes to Astroworld and when that drops, it'll be the Days..../Rodeo/Birds Travis...got a feeling that's not the case, though.

And yall brought up Takeoff doing a joint album with somebody earlier in the thread....I say a Takeoff/Gucci CD would be :wow:

Them going back to back on "Slippery" was :wow:
