His point was to show how big of a win this is for someone who ran a grassroots campaign by highlighting the population of Queens to show how many ppl her position she will preside over. In other words, we need more grassroots campaigns out here

i agree 100% with that and im looking forward to hearing the national outrage tomorrow from old reactionary republicans and democrats alike :russ:

"bu..but...but...she's going to let criminals run free :bryan:"

you can already predict what the national response will be. and because of how grasroots this was, it is a national story

my favorite part is going to be seeing Cuomo mad :blessed:

How do all these ppl afford $3000 month rent :dwillhuh:

most rent isnt $3000 but truth be told many people here are broke. even if there are 1 milion people here with "money" that still leaves 7.5 million plus people in extreme struggle mode. lots of folks living like 4+ deep in apts and many are grandfathered in places they grew up in and know (for now) how to stretch dollars.

if your shyt is together (certs, etc) then you will eat here. add being a CAC on to that + privilege and you're okay.

Twitter saying Caban came out of nowhere and the establishment is sick :gucci:

Breh our politics in queens never experiences upsets. It’s usually just successions when it comes to politicians. It went from Helen Marshall for 15 years then it went to her chosen successor Melinda Katz and nobody out here batted an eye ( it’s just what happens here). I’m trying to figure out why is Melinda running for a lesser position.

This is so weird.

“These people”??? As in middle -upper class black families with a median income of 90k ... working . :gucci: Average rent or mortgage for a 3 br a lot of places is close to $2,600+. Where are y’all living where you’re paying less than 2k rent or mortgage is my question?
:mindblown: Because from NY, Philly, down to DC, Baltimore - I have yet to see anything less than 2k -3k a month. That’s been the standard. 10 yrs ago, you might have paid $1800 monthly for a place that is now at $2,300.

The only places where rent approaches 3k in Queens is Long Island City and Forest Hills. Nicole is right about many black families having money out here. From Cambria to Laurelton to Rosdale, etc, many black people own their homes and make good money.
