The Ghost of Jack Tripper
Nas because no one was going at Jay, and being so bold. Jay was the big man, and people wanted to see him fall for a minute, but Jay still sold music months after that, and had hip hop people like him. And Nas had mixtapes on lock, it wasn't just about the radio. If meek came with a good battle song, he could have done Drake bad.
As far as Drake, he won't last. Even though he is pop, this is still rap music, and shyt doesn't last when you get exposed. I know you remember boss. She was the shyt, got exposed, and boom she was gone. Drake is different, but its the same shyt. Plus, hes pop, and the definitely dont last. We are just arguing though, but remember my post, and watch all of it come true. I wish it was a way we can stamp this. Oh well, time will tell.
Meek just sold the most records of his life. That means a lot more than having hot mixtapes. That hasn't helped though. Because his music is subpar. It's the same situation as where Jay was back then. People want to see Drake fall. He's been successful since the jump. The point is, Meek doesn't have the music. You can gossip and tweet all day, but that's not what keeps you around. It's the music. We can enjoy all the shyt talking, but this is still about the music for them.
Rap music is one thing. Drake isn't Hip Hop though. So he's not going to be held to the same standard that we hold other dudes to. He doesn't belong to the culture just because he raps a lot. It doesn't work that way. He bounces from genre to genre. That's what's kept him in business. And you see how his following responds to shyt like this. They don't care about Hip Hop code. They just want to keep hearing from the guy.
