Yeah I'd confuse him with a street nikka from Atlanta or New York or Memphis

Eminem??? Since when was Eminem from the streets?:mjtf:What are you talking about Eminem for?

What are you saying? You quoted me originally cause I highlighted how terrible British actors are at playing non generic roles like a Detroit drug dealer. Now you over here bringing up Big Sean and Eminem.

Get the fukk on man your wasting my time :skip:

You don’t have any critical thinking skills at all. You don’t even know what we’re discussing. I took a massive L for engaging with you. My bad gang

Collateral
Law Abiding Citizen

Very bad acting jobs from Jamie.

:russell:

Jamie is not polished. His big screen roles come off as amateurish.

Not saying he's not talented.

But Idris is a better actor.

Since when is there a Detroit accent?

NY/NJ
Cali
New Orleans/Louisiana
South FL
Memphis
Houston
Baltimore
Atlanta
Geechies
The south

Only places with distinctive black accents that I know of.

I will say it’s easy to tell when a rapper is from Detroit based on the beat selection & the way the flow up there but I’ve never heard of a Detroit accent
Detroit has a Midwest accent breh but theirs are slightly different from the rest of the Midwest they sound similar to black people from the Bay.

For example Payroll sounds a lot like Too Short

Disagree, Jamie was outshined by everyone in the movie from Sam Jack, Waltz, n Leo,
Nah Jamie did his thing :gucci:
Idris woulda been up there with his default Brooklyn accent ridin around the Deep South as newly freed slave:dead:

Pretty sure Jamie knew how to ride a horse and dude is a southerner, so it would be easy to play Django.

Idris is a great actor but I can't see him sounding like a breh from 1860s Texas. Jamie didn't lean in that deep on accent but Idris would have to not go British and NOT sound like a nikka from Bed Stuy.

Most of you brehs are simple and easy to please. You are not serious about artistry.

Jamie is unbelievable in many of his roles and neither I or the other breh in this thread is pulling this out of our ass.

This does not negate that Jamie isn't talented. He still has some ways to go with his craft, he's just not there yet.

1st of all do u know how long ago Any Given Sunday was?

2ndly, Did u even read the whole article you posted:russ:

Foxx did ultimately land the lead role as football star 'Steamin' Willie Beamen in Any Given Sunday, earning praise for his performance from the press.

He also went on to win an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic Ray.

He clearly leveled up his acting cuz Stone went on to hire him. Are u slow:mjlol:

I know how long ago this article was. I know Oliver Stone went and hired him after he took some more acting classes. I know he won an academy award for Ray which I still think was a sympathy award, the movie was not even that good - Jamie's acting aside.

I posted the article in lieu of posting a slew of comments all across the internet critical of Jamie's acting ability.

Jamie has been good and bad in certain roles. I thought he was excellent in Ray, but then Ray Charles was still alive and available for Jamie to get his mannerisms and speech down pat. That movie was his Denzel/Malcolm X type role, where you forget he's not the real Ray Charles. Other movies like Django, Collateral and Law Abiding Citizen, he was okay but outshined by the other actors in the movie. I thought he was awful in Dreamgirls, they could have had anyone play that role and it would have been a better fit. Eddie Murphy outshined him in that movie.
