Question about college...academic probation

Will a college accept a student straight out of high school and place them on first semester academic probation?

Why would you be in academic probation? Academic probation applies to a student who finished a full term of college and his/her overall gpa were not sufficient enough for the program.

This doesn't apply to first year students.
