For those who watched Smallville in this clip Cassandra shows what Lex Luthor's future will be like. The vision shows him eventually becoming President of the United States.

My questions is, is this vision supposed to represent Lex Luthor starting World War III/causing a nuclear war? If so, what are his motivations for doing so? I though his beef was with Clark Kent/Superman and he wasn't necessarily a war monger?

Lex was destined for evil/horrible acts mainly due to his obsession with Clark/Superman. His quest for power and his jealousy over Clark was inevitably gonna lead him to hurting alot of people along the way which is what his vision is supposed to show. He's destined to be the villain.

The vision was showing that despite the fact that Lex tried to be a good guy and was a good friend to Clark.... he's destined to become a 'cancer' to the world. Which is ironic since we've seen in real life what bad things happen to the mass public when a businessman somehow becomes president \

edit: The vision even had Lex wearing only one glove like he's "The Messiah" Seth Rollins
