in general the post-gulf war 90s sanctions on iraq are not a topic of focus. as an act of policy they were overshadowed by the iraq war and many forget or were too young to remember them. which is a shame because its a great example of sanctions failing entirely to achieve their intended goal and having devestating consequences

I don't think we knew the scale at the time when airstrikes were launched in Kosovo. The Bosnian War had ended a few years prior though and the Serbs also committed genocide there.

I never said Libya was doing better. I said Gaddafi was a sociopath. He was dictator who repressed, tortured, raped and enslaved people. He committed and supported acts of terrorism and fought expansionist wars with his neighbors to steal their resources. Pan-Africanism and socialism are beautiful but Gaddafi was flimflam man of the highest order and built a cult of personality based on bullshyt. Please put the straw away.

People forget that there was a 24/7 no fly zone over Iraq. The Second Iraq War was inevitable.

im not crazy on his foreign policy, he also once when he was speaking somewhere, someone called him out on isreal and he started talking about well hamas is bad too, thats like saying black on black crime in response to police shooting unarmed black men. but at the same time hed prob be better than anyone else we could vote in at the current time since he wouldnt be a sell out to the military industrial complex, hes not saint bernie hes just the best choice mainly because hes not bought off by lobbyists and also hes popular at the moment so he can win
