I don't miss the store itself , but the experience of going with my family and picking a movie/game just based on the cover.
Reviews were not that big back then to impact your choice , at least for me since I was just a kid.

I miss going to the mom and pop gaming stores at the mall, before GameStop cannibalize everyone

I just miss being young.

It’s a lot easier now. Technology allows so much access to get what entertainment we want.

Not for video games but as a youth going there with others and picking out what movies to watch was great. I also had Blockbuster Total Access late in their life and they mailed me movies I could take to a retail store and exchange them for other movies. It was better than Netflix back then.

My first (and second)piece of coochie stared with a blockbuster night :wow:

Most games/movies you play for a bit then move on.

Being able to rent those games is of great value.

Some of you only decided renting games is a “bad” thing as you scavenge for reasons to not like gamepass.

In reality more options is always better for the consumer.

YES!

I still feel there is a place for video rental stores.

Not everyone still has streaming or even wifi

Also not everything accessible

Like if I wanna watch Iron Eagle,
American Ninja 3,

The Strongest Man in the World (Kurt Russell classic) where can I find those? Cuz they not on Netflix
I could provide a link
But its on Disney+ :francis:
That kid didn’t run to the video game section, i guess he only plays minecraft/roblox :francis:

kids back then didn’t want snes and genesis
You gots to chill with that pink powder whoodi :stop:
be kind, rewind :ehh:

na…. for video games too.

I remember the first time I played KOTAR

It’s was off the strength of a rental.

I wasn’t really sold on that game…. But I rented it like for 7 weeks straight (yes I know I could’ve bought it but at the time it was like some $6 for 7 days type shyt) (and I was a broke college student)

Like that game had me in a chokehold and I probably wouldve never played it if wasn’t for rentals….. or atleast not for years later

Rentals for me was always a great way to explore some games I don’t feel like taking the risk to drop $49.99 on

I have a lot of memories of going to mom&pop video stores, and Blockbuster. but everything is way more convenient now. I remember waiting by the return slot, hoping someone would return the game/movie I wanted
