Question: Does being an only child cause permanent loneliness?

I just wanted to get an opinion from everyone.
I've had this pervasive sense of loneliness my entire life, even when I'm around others...

I'm wondering if being an only child has anything to do with it.

But as much as I am comfortable alone...I hate being alone.
I wish all the time I could just fit in and have plenty of people around me...but it never works out that way.
Honestly, I just wish this lonely feeling would just fukkin go away.
But then again...I operate best alone.

I'm not an only child, but my sister is 14 years older than me. I kinda agree. I'm kind of a loner because I'm pretty socially awkward. I'm usually the fly on the wall at clubs, bars, etc, but if I'm leading an activity or it's something I'm generally interested in I'm good.

All in all, I need periods of contact with people but I need just as much alone time.

I like to party too don't get me wrong but I'm most comfortable if people I know are with me...I pick up on vibes real easy too so if you come among my circle with bad energy ima feel anxiety I'm very observant so I pay attention to all kinds of lil sh1t...socializing can be somewhat exhausting ...I enjoyed just being in goon mode when going out when I was younger and when I was in the army...I like to have a purpose
