I anytime someone is strangling you the first thing you have to realize is you may be about to die. Once a choke is sunk in your odds off survival have decreased.

That said let's look at this situation. Jodie was caught completely off guard and was on his way out.

If that choke was applied to me i wouldnt have even let Ving get his arms locked in before I initiated the escape.

First you grab the choking arm by the wrist with two hands and pull down creating enough space for you to tuck your chin or jaw in the crook of his arm. This is very uncomfortable and you could get your jaw broke but it's better then being unconscious. You want to get your neck in a better space so you can begin starting the escape. I would then begin sliding to the floor while turning my body in the direction of his wrist which symbolizes the way out of the choke.

I don't care if I havery to slide off the arm of the couch or to the floor and it looks awkward I'm getting out.

Otherwise jodi would have to put both feet on the couch and blast backwards, taking the choke to the floor to do the same thing but there you risk Ving being able to use his strength to lift you to your feet and continue choking you at which point one of your only options is to hold the wrist a throw your weight forward with your shoulders and face to the ground in an attempt to flip ving which can also be difficult if Ving is able to lean you backwards and take away your balance.

This approach if blasting back may work because ving sunk in the choke and then put his weight down so he may fall back if you get your feet on the couch blast back and put your weight over his weight

Thay choke was nothing I couldn't have got out of though since Ving wasn't trained.

dapped just off the strength of you actually providing a detailed analysis of this situation based on a topic (brazilian jujitsu) that you probably don't really even know anything about off the Coli. You prolly have no idea what you're talking about, but that detailed explanation. :wow:

From that angle, the only way out is to bite the arm and hope you don't get stabbed. Melvin has too much strength and more importantly too much leverage. Jody isn't even able to get his legs under him, so he can't use his back at all. Even if he could, he'd be fighting the entire weight of Melvin's body which would probably be fruitless.

Melvin did time and I am sure had put a couple dudes to sleep in his day.

Anyway Jody had his hands in the wrong place, Should have had both hands on Ving wrist trying to create some space. Choke wasnt that deep at that point in the pic.
