the thing is... the real answer is hendrix...

because if you put all of them in a room...

hendrix could keep up with their style of play..

but they would have absolutely no chance of keeping up with his style

There is no real answer, really.. They all plowed their own paths. Hendrix is GOAT level and one of the flashiest players ever but BB King's economic guitar playing is on another level too. There's been some Hendrix I've heard and been like, "play less" :russ:

Damn everybody listed all the greats

Honorable mentions:
Sister Rosetta Tharpe (The godmother of Rock and Roll)

Charlie Christian (the OG of single note playing)

Wes Montgomery (The OG of cultivating octaves "signature Jazz chords")

Bo Diddley (Bo Diddley was very innovative. He used the "clave rhythm" found in every Afro descent music)

From Africa (this is just pt.1) (PS. the best guitarist from Africa are from Congo and West Africa - Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast, etc)

Dr Nico Kasanda (The greatest guitarist from the continent, big comparison to Charlie Christian by experimenting with different tonalities such as reverb, delay, Hawaiian guitar)

Franco Luambo Makiadi aka "sorcerer of guitar" His guitar style is different he plucks on two strings

Pepe Manuaku Waku (Zaiko Langa Langa) (Manuaku Waku is known as the "magician of guitar" Manuaku added instrumentals from western rock into Congolese rumba called it "sebene" - sebene means seventh chords in French)

Lokassa Ya M'Bongo (He is the pioneer of the "mi compose rhythm guitar. Mi compose guitar is the D string replaced with a high E string in placed on a D string. As a result, you get two E strings)

Bongo Wende RIP (Bongo Wende is known as the "heir" of Jimi Hendrix because he was influenced by him!!! Bongo Wende imitated Jimi by playing guitar with his teeth, using the fretboard like it's a keyboard, the dude who was on another level!)

Playing sebene guitar with his teeth

Mixtape of his greatest solos

Diblo Dibala (known for his dexterity, speed and skill Diblo is not to be slept on)

Mixtape of his Diblo's greatest solos

He had the technical profiency to emulate it, sure. He was even a BB King Stan - asked the man for tips when he was starting off. But the feeling would be different

we can speculate whether the feeling would be off...

but we KNOW BB king couldn't keep up with hendrix's style...

iunno man... give hendrix 6 months to lock it down tight..

i bet he would come with AI levels of BBking emulation

Goes back to what I first said - they all plowed their own path. Developed their own feeling and tone when it came to playing. King was never concerned about matching Hendrix on a technical level, so I'd say it's more like he "wouldn't" keep up with Hendrix's style if anything
