So inevitably throughout one’s career, there will be situations where you think you’re more qualified than those above you. If it is clearly that they’re taking advantage of you, then the conversation becomes one of job responsibility and scope of work. You should have that conversation with your manager with those points in mind. Ask your manager to clarify your role and responsibility and your scope of work. Then hit the manager with saying you can’t do other people’s work as much as you like being helpful because it effects your job performance.if that doesn’t help, I would literally go to the next boss or hr and document everything. In the meantime look for a new job.

I’ve been through this before and it really depends on the company. But I find the most effective thing to do for yourself is to find a new job that pays more at a higher level.

Nah my nikka. at first i was open to help too. But they wont even try to find the answer on their own. This one dude got on the team bc he says he know how to use powerbi. hes been assigned his first project to work with it and now im finding he doesnt know anything about it :dahell: he flat out asks me to do one dashboard while he watches so he can do the rest :dead:

i dont see anything wrong with it. if he knows what to do after watching just one time then it seems like he knows and just wants to confirm how this team does things. cuz i know it may take me more than one time watching if i "don't know anything about it" as you say.

like my position, we have a training for every new project aven though everybody knows what to do. we still need that instruction component so shyt is clear and thorough. then we all go do our thing. going over what to do and how to do it is part of the process every time.

yea i used to do that but they started looking stupid in the scrum meetings. So now she tries to meet before the meeting to know what im going to say. I just say I'm busy and cant talk until after team meetings

I prefer them to look like idiots. I usually share an Excel sheet when I get it looking like something. I send another email when I update it. That way it’s always a record of me updating them. Of course my Director the senior manger use the typical A.I Gmail generated email responses so it’s usually “Looks good, thanks” or “Thanks for the update”.

If it’s ever a problem I always point back to my emails.
