I don't usually watch Anime, in fact i haven't watched any in years since Dragon Ball Z back in the day. But i been getting recommended to watch this Attack on Titan for years now. So i recently started watching it on Hulu right, but im noticing that almost all the characters look like white people and not Asian/Japanese at all. Especially with all the blonde haired characters with blue/light round eyes everywhere. And it's not just this Anime series, looking through the diff Anime series available and almost all the characters look like white people:what:

So i'm wondering, why you guys think that these Japanese animators draw almost all their characters to look white/European, instead of straight up Japanese/Asian.:ohhh:

I wouldn’t think too deep into it breh

DBZ had white looking characters as well. Thats just they way they draw them, I honestly can’t even tell the difference.

And AOT is only good for like one season. Watch Baki on Netflix and get back to us.

I’m not super into Anime but I like certain shyt, so maybe someone else could answer. Idk what drawing a cartoon to look super asian would even mean. A lot of times, the hair color and shyt is to distinctly diversify the characters, have different cultures, etc.

They look white to you but they’re usually not supposed to be white or European. They just tend to have crazy hair and the like but they look Asian to them.

If they so into making diverse looking characters then why no black characters? I mean of the 3 races they sure got white over represented and asian underrepresented, but black people somehow don't exist to them lol.

Naruto isn’t “Asian” but have you ever seen an Asian or white guy with a gigantic demon fox in them like that? No? Because shyt isn’t real.

Because these people aren’t real and they don’t have races like that. Killer Bee, Darui, and A are “black” but they speaking Japanese and are “Asian”.

I mean, wasn’t it supposed to be in germany?

This isn’t the only anime without black characters and there are anime’s with black characters or “asian” looking characters

I’m telling you to watch Baki breh if you want some diversity type shyt. I like OPM and dude doesn’t look white at all. Thats just how they draw different shyt.

There aren’t a lot of black people in japan either if you’re wondering why we’re under represented in their anime culture

Or you got Avdol from Jojo Part 3, Canary from Hunter X Hunter, Afro Samurai, Kilik from Soul Eatee, Butch from Ghost in the Shell, Michiko from Michiko, etc.
