After reading another thread it had me thinking. During Michael Jordan's tenure, were there any other sneakers by another basketball players that rivaled Jordan's? Better yet, has there been any other sneakers that had comparable number in sales and/or popularity? :jbhmm: Just curious.

No one has been close really but other guys definitely had legit popularity with their shoes. All the guys mentioned in this thread so far but i dont think anyone got close to Jordans except maybe Yeezys

Nobody nowhere near as consistent… but surprised nobody said Bo Jackson’s
Damn my wife got me some Bo Jackson joints for Christmas. Them SC Trainers, I had forgotten how fly that specific pair was. It was either the Jordan 6s or those, back in 1991 for my birthday. Of course I went with the Js. But I wanted those Bo Jackson's for 30+ yrs and finally got them.

Reebok had a helluva run that started in 1991 when Dee Brown did the “no look” dunk at the All Star dunk competition in some pumps.

The following year, Reebok released Shaq’s first signature shoes and if memory serves, they were in high demand and were selling out.

Reebok kept gaining popularity as the 90s progressed and peaked with Allen Iverson’s line.

This was around the time And1 started giving NIKE a reason to worry and then NIKE came out with their own street ball inspired lineup and shut all that shyt down.

Once Kobe jumped ship from Adidas to NIKE and they signed Lebron, NIKE and Jordan went on cruise control and started dropping retros heavy.

The rest is easy to figure out.
