someone i personally know came to me with a propasal to sell thier E BOOK via my ebay storefront...

because he loves the heavy traffic i recieve as well as the consistent sales im making and most importantly the theme of his book ties in with the products im selling

im very intrested.....especially considering he is offering me a significant split of the potential revenue ...

but im confused...cause i know EBAY has a policy of not sending contact info like EMAILS to people within the inbox.....

so im like HOW THE FUKK DO I GET PEOPLE THEIR "E BOOK" if im not able to email them??!?!?
:patrice:

or is thier some "pass" or exception giving to those SELLING E BOOKS...

cause all i wanna do is send it to them in PDF form once the sale is completed

feel me?

But i have a similar question

I am thinking about writing some childrens books and am considering going the kindle/amazon route because the royalties are much higher...does anyone have any experience with what OP asked or kindle/amazon?

I've purchased software from ebay and seller sends me the pin/ usercode AFTER the transaction is complete.
There has to be an exception because software sells on ebay all the time......not the physical media. You download it from the company and you purchase pin, code, password from ebay vendor.

hmmmm...that has me intrigued...

how and why are the royalties much higher on amazon/kindle...

i think i know the answer to that based on the fact ..amazon basically started one of the first succesful ebook store business models along with it's Kindle format...

i just would like to know.....

okay but im a personal merchent..not a company in the formal sense

and i have seen listings on ebay ..numerous listings where they CLAIM that they will send you an email with the link to the PDF E BOOK format that you purchased

im wondering can i do that as well? even though im not a formal company or even a publisher for that matter...feel me?

I did it 5 years ago. I'd sell PDF versions of expensive textbooks for $20-$40.
Ebay will find out though. Ebay customer support sent me an email warning a couple weeks after I started. They said they would ban my account and I could get sued if I didn't stop.

That even legal? I always thought "owning" a book purchased via Nook or Kindle was really glorified renting with them having the ability to rescind what you "purchased." Similar but not quite the same as generic ink cartridges for brands like Epson.

Yes:mjgrin:

Idk if Ebay changed their policies since then, but you can tell the customer to put their email address in the notes section when they make the purchase.

I was reading it was 3-5% through a traditional publisher and possibly 50-70% thru amazon/kindle

Its the overhead, marketing, materials etc tied into a hard copy book as opposed to a digital book

I was talking about going through a publisher to put out hard copies of the book

Like i said idk about ebay

I only used it years ago to buy and sell baseball cards

I didnt even know they were into e-books

But i suppose..why not?

If you could sell it on your storefront and get a cut of what the author gets then i dont see why u shouldnt do it :yeshrug:
