QUESTION: Is Kevin Durant ALREADY A Better Scorer Than Kobe?

Ok, so now that Bean is all but retired its time to officially crown KD the best scorer in the game and maybe best since MJ. Espn analyst like to say he can potentially be "the greatest scorer the games seen" or best since MJ anyway. But first you need to put him over Kobe. Kobe in most opinion is the best scorer since MJ and I ain't doubting that...... until today. So the question is, is Durant already a better scorer than Kobe ever was/is?

The way I see it KD is ALREADY.....

way more efficient

A better 3 point shooter.

A better finisher at the rim.

Kobe has a better mid range and post game but that's it

The bottom line is KD drops 40 + games in his sleep and he's efficient. Kobe's a great scorer but he always seemed to work harder, shoot more, MISS MORE, pass LESS, and take much more bad/difficult shots (even though he would make a lot of them ) but Durants scoring game is so effortless and quiet just like a SNIPER. His jumper is EASY MONEY. Kobe's jumper in BROKE half the time cause he's more of a streaky shooter but great scorer nonetheless But he ain't touching KD not now especially not in the future cause KD will only get better.

LWO it's time to admit KD > KOBE as a scorer. Plus he already has twice as many more scoring titles.

Russ Westbrook my mans and he helps OCK way more than he hurts them and they need him for any chance at a title,even tho he takes away from KD.

But far as individual accolades if KD was the first and second option for a team this wouldnt even be a debate.

I think you just explained a part of it yourself.


I don't think people (including you) take into account that the difficult / circus shots Kobe takes / makes is actually a part of his make up. It makes him dangerous at ALL TIMES because you never know when he might throw up a shot that ISN'T EVEN LOGICAL, it'll STILL GO IN, and cost you a Championship...


Until KD gets swarmed with triple and quadruple teams in the NBA finals by a defense the caliber of those 08 celtics, and STILL give them hell, I don't wanna hear nothing bout KD being a better scorer than Kobe.



People always talk about Kobe's lower than excellent shooting efficiency... Well I just explained how that's a part of who he is, taking wild shots that other people don't take, but the THREAT of him being able to make them opens things up for his teammates.


Just compare Lebron last year VS San Antonio, and Kobe in 2008 vs the celtics....


Kobe literally got Double / triple teamed EVERYTIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL.... Pop left Lebron Wide open purposely...


I know this thread aint about Lebron, but that just shows you the attention Kobe gets and its partially due to him taking wild shots (He's not a stat padder that isn't going to take a shot just so his % doesn't go down, ala LeFraud)...

Kobe's resume of top scoring games shyts on everyone besides Chamberlin, and who cares about him.


People were throwing parades because LeFraud score 61, when Kobe scored 62 in 3 quarters.... Could've easily had 2 80 point games in his career, or at least 70.... Jordan doesn't even have one. I can argue Kobe is a better scorer than Jordan based off this alone.
