QUESTION: Isn't Austin Rivers basically another Stephen Curry?

Not saying Rivers is as good as Curry, but I remember when Curry came into the NBA. A lot of people doubted him for the same reasons they doubt Rivers like: he wasn't a pure PG. He's undersized for a two. He shoots too much, needs the ball in his hands, etc.

On the contrary others loved him for his NBA pedigree (father in NBA), 3 point range, scoring/shooting ability, clutchness and killer instinct just like Rivers.

Whereas Curry was doubted for coming out a small school and put up big numbers, Rivers is doubted for going to a big school and not living up to expectations.

All of this, and they're both light skinned :ohhh:

But seriously, in your opinion, will Rivers have as good of a year as Curry? Is he even as good of a player or can he be better? This is a much better comparison for Rivers than OJ Mayo to me.

b-b-but they're both light skinned....haha. I see we got some Curry fans here. Yea, I watched Curry at Davidson. He was on another level, But Rivers with a green light on that same Davidson team would've averaged 20+ easily.

No one knew Curry would be this good. But I remember skip Bayless predicting it :skip:

The only thing they have in common is size and being lightskin (oh I see someone already took the joke lol)

Curry is a true point guard, Rivers will most likely never be.

I just worry about Curry's ankle...it's keeping him from improving. It's like he spends a portion of every year getting back to square one instead of spending that time in the gym building...that'll catch up to you when you're 29 and all your former peers surpassed you.

:rudy:

Nick Young defends 6-6 wing players, and does it well when he wants to

Curry and Rivers aren't as athletic as young or as good of a pure scorer. Youngs just an underachiever.
