Compared to Hogan most wrestlers are 5 star wrestlers. I've never been a Hogan fan either but I could see his appeal. :yeshrug:

I can't agree with classics year in and out for John Cena, :ehh: but I'm not going to argue that.

Last 2 years he's had the match of the year arguably.

2012 vs. Lesnar
2011 vs, Punk

I became a fan during the rapper gimmick. I don't hate him now, it's just that his character sucks.

Yeah...I dug the "Word Life" version of Cena. As a person that has rapped and being from Detroit, there was a lot of appeal in that and the product was edgier so he was way more entertaining then.

Indifferent toward Cena at this point.

His ring work (while awkward at times) isn't horrible. I've never yawned during a John Cena match and I'm always interested in what's going to happen next. Truthfully, we're always going to be curious about the finish of a Cena match because we're going to want to know if they'll find a way to put him over or actually have him lose. Can't knock that. :manny:

SANTAAAAA!!!!!!!

....and a lot of the time, dude's just having fun out there, as corny as he is. He could definitely work on his comedic timing but for the most part, he seems to genuinely enjoy the business and I can respect that. :heh:

The only thing that I dislike is his blatant pandering when it's completely unnecessary. There are times to troll and then there are times to roll with the punches. When he tried to give that Slammy Award to Flair b/c the crowd felt that Punk deserved it, I was like :snoop: "Just...take the fukking award, dude. Stop trying to please everyone."

It's hard to get behind a person someone that people "hate" when they're trying to fit into both sides or when you're joking with a friend...talking all sorts of trash and they pull you aside like "Hey...but you didn't really mean all that, did you?" :to:

It's like, "We get why you are what you are...stop being a little bytch about it and just play along." :stopitslime:

...but other than that, I definitely don't mind Cena and I warm up to him more and more. His work on this past Christmas episode was great.

A big thing that people tend to not consider when claiming that Cena needs to go heel is this: "IF NOT CENA then WHO?" Cena's an established character from a prior era. He's probably one of the only guys that can fit the billing as a top face right now with both the WWE's main fan base and the IWC being pleased.

Would you really want The Miz as your top face winning at Wrestlemania and doing the Make-A-Wishes? :beli:

Punk's a great wrestler...but do you see a guy with his image (tatted-up, pierced lip) & anti-social personality outside of the ring going to schools and hospitals as a top face. He's admitted on Colt Cabana's show that people irritate him.

Daniel Bryan doesn't exactly give children that "larger-than-life" superhero feeling that a Hulk Hogan or Macho Man would have given us as children. We can dig him but can the children? Do you want face promos and face-booking for D-Bry? :bryan:

So if not Cena doing all of that top face/Make-A-Wish/talk show/Support The Troops stuff to get the product over with the main fan-base....who do you suggest?
