Once Chief Keef got Kanye's attention, just like that Durk, Reese, Ballout, Fredo and Marley blew up?

I mean there's a lot of rappers who try to put their people on (i.e. Gotti, Jeezy, etc etc) but these guys somehow blew up and got attention and record deals immediately (Def Jam, etc)

They have a song that's alright here and there but in reality how did these guys blow up?

I really believe it's who you know, cause it's fair to say there are hundreds of cats better than these guys. Don't get me wrong they have a few tracks here and there, but their stans overrated these cats.

Sometimes an act can be so wack, ghetto and stereotypical that it starts to assemble a huge following.

People are fascinated by things not of the norm, which is why many people tune into the discovery channel to watch Lions, Tigers n what not.

Plus the kids like him

How did they "blow up" because they got 360 deals?

None of them are mainstream...

Compared to the rappers that their predecessors have put on, they seem to be much ahead of them.

How Sway?

I know that reese and durk were building their own brand and laying their own groundwork by themselves. I been listening to durk's music for a couple years and his( and reese's) videos were always like 100k and up. And this was without any blog mentions or any radio spins. it was just facebook, the streets, and word of mouth. So they had some buzz in The Chicago area even before keef got hot.

Now them other dudes like fredo, and SD and Ballout got attention b/c of keef .

So yeah it does have to do with who you know, but if a rapper wants to get hot they gotta do the work themselves too.
