Something's telling me to take the money, but I get a sense that being musically gifted is more fulfilling than being athletically gifted.

Think about this for a second... The worst players in the NFL/NBA make hundreds of thousands of dollars. That money is GUARANTEED. If you're in that 1% and put in decent effort you WILL get money. Another thing that I see no one mentioning is that there are loads of different sports league. If you don't make it in the NFL, then you can make it in the CFL, overseas or in the AFL.
OP is one of the biggest complainers on this forum when the topic of today's music come up. Tell me this, why aren't the people who you deem artistically gifted on top of the world? Being a good artist has nothing to do with talent. Britney Spears wasn't a talented artist, but she was charismatic and had that 'look' that made the masses go crazy.
If you can't get anyone to give you a look, then what's the point of being talented?
Doesn't matter, that's a different subject altogether. If all things were equal (you had the equal chance of making it athletically and artistically) and you had the opportunity to be born with an extremely creative/artistic mind or born with freakish physical gifts what would you choose? Simple question. Forget about all the other factors that has put actual talent in the background over image and looks.
