I never understood why people trade in their cars before its fully paid off

My coworker traded in a 2012 Camry for a 2011 BMW series and was talking about how he :win: He was shytting on the Camry's reliability because he got a flat tire. He literally got a flat tire one day, got a new tire and drive to the dealership to trade it in. I was like :mindblown:

Ok so currently i have a 09 Acura TSX with 62K miles and want to trade it in for a 2011 Charger R/T w/24K miles that they're selling for $28,944.

Right now I owe around $14,400 on my for the TSX. When i went to the dealership today, they appraised my car for only $14,000. Now i know that i'll be upside since i'll have a -$400 difference, but I'm sure i can pay that $400 difference so that I won't be upside down and that they wont put that $400 into the new car.

My question is would this be a good idea for me to do right now? or should i just hold on to what I have.

No. That's a bad idea.
Hold on to what you have.
The Acura is a better quality car and will depreciate less than the Charger after four years. So your 2009 Acura in 2017 will probably be worth more than the Charger in 2017.

LOL at TSX over Charger. What biased ass group of posters. :russ:

Sell your car privately then go into the Dodge dealer and buy that shyt. You'll get a lot of your TSX since the Acura used car market is so damn overpriced. @MilesTailsPrower

A fukking Acura TSX isn't even on the same planet as a 11 R/T, I'm kinda mad that yall are talking like the cars are comparable.

If you can afford the payments, then its a major upgrade. My only concern is the price of the R/T. I think 2011 is the first run of the new gen Chargers, and the R/T's came in only 1 package and was pretty cheap that year. Now they come in like 3 or 4 different packages/trims and the low end R/T MSRP is right around 30k.

If seems like you are overpaying for that shyt. I'm sure with a little luck and skill you can walk away with a 2013 for less that what you are paying for that 2011.

Man stick with the Acura. Those Chargers are heavy, and use way more gas. They can't handle for shyt either. If you really want a Charger get the SRT/8, not the SRT. I hope you aint tryin to put those big goofy wheels on em either.
