Some people are naturally that way based on their personality, white people by a large margin are just as guilty of it.

well if you read the title you would know that this thread isnt about white people.

i just want to know why the 70 year old black guy at my job touches my arm and back.

I was gonna say, this is old folks' ish.

It used to be that when a person was relating to you, they would touch you (a lot of times they don't even realize) to show concern/conviction/comraderie. It's not that they are trying to violate you per se.

Like if you say something and they agree, they might tap your shoulder.
Or if they're saying something they really want you to remember they'll touch your arm.
Or they might pat your back as an "at a boy".

One of the older sisters at my church recently apologized to me for doing this. She's an animated person, and she told me that her son (who is my friend) said that she should realize that everyone is not comfortable with that. I told her it didn't bother me, because I don't sense any malice when she does it.

White people don't touch you in conversation but they definitely invade your personal space. White people get close enough to tongue you down when they talk to you. You got give them the polite "forearm" on some 'please step back' shyt.

But we still love yall...cacs gon' cac :heh:
