You know how a lot of ppl think of Ghostface's style as avante garde/stream of consciousness/difficult to decipher bc references might be very personal or bc he himself isn't exactly sure what he was saying?

The question is whether yall think the same applies to Raekwon? Honestly sometimes I'll listen to a Raekwon track and think to myself that I could imagine Ghost spitting the same shyt and vice versa. Not saying that they're copycats of each other just that I can understand why they gravitate towards each other.

I understand just about everything Ghost says except on Supreme Clientele because he didn’t write it.

Raekwon layers his shyt with so much slang that I gave up trying to understand his lyrics in the 90s.

Couldn’t spit hardly any of his rhymes on songs I’ve heard trillions of times.

I feel like Ghostface uses abstract and obscure references to describe shyt but Rae moreso makes up his own slang. But they both do both things so they are very similar lol

I used to think Rae was hard to comprehend but I get almost all the slang now. I think I listened to enough Rae to kinda understand his language. Even when it's not clear, it's pretty easy to understand when you put it in the context of the verse or song topic.
Camp Lo, though :whoa:I grew up on blaxploitation and still their shyt is way over my head.

They both can be explained, but some verses take longer to get...with their damn voice inflictions. What makes it absurd is they use different slang for the same items each time.

Most raes shyt is disconnected and leads for a “is this even a story” vibe

Ghost is more direct in his storytelling

Rae can be too but they opposites in that regard.
