Quick never had verses as awesome as West on Drive Slow now a beat as A1 as Heart of the City and never had an album as good as college dropout.

Dre have ghost writers but his production talents from 88-93 was unmatched.

West is the best blend in history

No doubt Quik makes the piffiest music ever but he's not GOAT.

:manny: I wouldn't argue with you if you think differently though, he's actually ridiculous

Add DJ Quik to the list of artists that the coli praises that nobody I ever met in real life gives a fukk about

So true. I remember in High School getting sh*tted on when trying to defend Quik. Mind you..I respect what Quik put down and actually paid money for his albums thats why my statement of him not having any universal classics still stand. I remember on the track Way 2 Fonky Quik dissed The Bronx...Mind you, know one gave a damn. There was no uproar about him dissing the Bronx because no one took Quik serious like that. (Add the fact that when Quik came to Yo MTV Raps he back tracked by bigging up the Bronx claiming that it was Jus Lyke Compton when he was singing the chorus to that song live)

Dre goes after Tim Dog and everyone is focused on it. Quik goes after Tim Dog and no one cares.

Also...When Eiht and Quik were beefing, NO ONE CARED.

anyone who said dj quik sounds like nwa has no credibility and should be ignored:camby:.

You two fools didnt even pay attention to what I stated....I said that in the early 90's vulgar rap was just beginning....NWA and 2Live Crew were the top dogs in that area.....When Quik came out he was cursing all over records as well and he was claiming Compton. It wasn't liek it is now where everybody is cursing on record...There was a gradual step to that becoming the norm and rappers cursing like crazy on records was now becoming the norm. By the time Snoop came out cursing all over records was teh norm but when Quik came out it was still pretty fresh and new.......This is what I meant by Quik and NWA's similarites...Pay attention next time before you speak.......If you dont remember that moment in Hip Hop then u have no credibility and should be ignored

:camby:nikkas been cursing on rap songs throughout the 80's. dj quik was not a shock rap artist like nwa either. just because he curses doesn't make them similar. maybe youre mistaking dj quik for ice t:lolbron:

You are full of sh*t. You not speaking facts. I didnt say they weren't cursing in the 80's. I said cursing all over records (Meaning the whole album , nearly every song, using the most obscene profanity) was not the norm. Most rappers in the 80;s were still making albums that u could play in front of ya parents. The Parental Advisory sticker was just becoming the norm in the early 90's, prior to that you hardly saw the sticker...You just saw a warning.....The Parental Advisory sticker on a record was a big thing at one point thats why Kane spoke about it on Heavy D's song Don't Curse. LL Cool J's 2nd album was the first record I remember having the removable sticker.....Neither NWA nor Slick Ricks first album had the PA sticker....It just had the removable warning. Rapperes would curse but it would be a few songs here and there not the whole album........ Once the 90's kicked in the Parental Advisory sticker started popping up and cursing all over records started becoming the norm. Big daddy Kanes 2nd album had curses but still didnt have the sticker just the removable warning...and he only had a select amount of songs that were cursing...he wasn't doing it wreckless like NWA and 2 Live Crew. Thats why I said NWA and 2 Live Crew were the top dogs in that area.......IF IM WRONG THEN U TELL ME WHO THE FUK WAS CURSING AS WRECKLESS AS NWA and 2 Live Crew IN THE LATE 80'S????????? That wasn't the norm dummy....so when Quik came out and his first song on his album was all about Sweet Black P*ssy...He fell in that category.

Kanye West had co producers too tho.

hell... most of his beat were not made by just himself

even if that wasn't the case, West was never really on the level of Dre was at in 88 to 93
