A Pilot EP script was sent over, the show synopsis was sent over, NDAs were sent over and signed, notes about the script were shared back etc... nothing about what was pitched was a joke or in casual conversation tho. In addition to all of that, the ladies with the production company told her that they were hip to ABC and Hulu looking for a new black lead comedy to run with... then Abbott started production a few months later.
People have this happen to them all the time, the main difference in this case is that ol girl had her paperwork legit on the back end. Then by knowing she had her shyt together, she sat back and waited to hit them with a suit. That's some boss shyt IMO

I read the receipts you posted and good LAWD thats a whole lotta “coincidence” to simply dismiss. I’ma keep my mouth shut until the court case resolves because from reading that its looking super close to a “Settlement reached with terms undisclosed” type of situation

A series about teaching kids using “ children are the future” as a joke was used in School of Rock in 2003.
A few of these are just general stuff about teachers. We are social workers.. therapist.. etc. The principal getting the job through a sex scandal Is interesting but since we only have a pilot script for one and a series for the other it’s just general claims of similarities like Aquaman and Namor or Doom Patrol and X-Men.
In a 22 minute script, the differences probably outweight the similarities.
Brunson didn’t create the mockumentary style so how do you prove she got it from this script and not the Office, Park and Rec, etc?
im not saying it’s without merit but if I were a judge you would have to make a stronger link between the two than just white character wanna be hip in a black comedy. That Abbot could only have gotten these ideas from this other script.
