I can agree with what he's saying. Personally what I think Kendrick has over guys like Locksmith and King Los is he can makes songs and he can make whole projects that are good. He is good at making music I want to hear. Elzhi you can say is better but he's not putting out albums right now. Also cause Kendrick is mainstream he has to hold back a little cause then you end up like Lupe where a lot of people won't even know what you're talking about.

Elzhi imo got K.Dot by lightyears but like you stated isnt consistent. I also think Ras Kass to a degree falls in the category of trying to have crossover appeal and lose some of his fans because he was at one time trying to make song to cater to the mainstream.

You think R.A is a top 5 lyricist of all time? Or currently? If so because I think there are better than him, I think R.A is good though on form but top 5 is hard to put him quite there personally...

Out of the new guys who are actually putting out albums, he's got to be top 5 in terms of lyrics/song concepts/albums. I'd find it hard pressed for someone to name 5 newer MCs better than Kendrick.
I am not one of those people that believes everyone has to rhyme like Canibus to be lyrical either.
