Miguel second album and Alsina first album both had multiple hits and they both were in a position to get to that Chris Brown and Trey songz tier and potentially surpass them

But they both dropped complete duds last year, buzz wise, sales wise and hits wise...

And both lost a lot( damn near all) of their relevance

Who fukked up their chance more?

Both albums were mediocre and a big step down from their previous albums

this is a discussion of the music, both artist went in a different direction and it hurt their Ascension in the game

Who doesn't want artist they are fans of to be successful?

fukk you mean

August 2nd album was better than his 1st imo...more diverse subject matter.

his label fukked him over leaking the entire album on youtube either a day before or a week before the official release.

Plus he had that situation where he was going blind

Miguel's last album was good , just wasn't what most was expected... I don't listen to August like that so idk

Isn't this a huge misstep

Miguel want at the stage of his career to go left

I'd say Miguel cause he had the most potential. Alsina was a slightly better trey songz.

I believe Miguel could've seriously crossed over. I'm talking Weeknd level

Nah, the music was still mediocre regardless of what he's talking about( real life :russell:)

Song Cry was a WOAT first single and the song was Wayne didn't sound fresh at all

don't listen to alsina so i don't know about his situation, but miguel, while dropping a cool album, didn't drop the album he needed to drop to ascend to the mass market or even to continue to grow in the "urban" market. that's cool, but i don't think that was his goal. he was on the cusp with kaleidoscope, at all the award shows drop kicking bytches and whatnot...but i think he can still "salvage" his career, dudes like alsina tho, he's a urban artist to the core and that's a fickle fanbase, might be a wrap for him...even chris brown and trey aren't poppin right now

It had nowhere the impact or success of KD

shyt was some hybrid prince/Rock :trash:
mainstream fans are still going to check for his next album, all he has to do is use that pop formula.

Alsina is never gonna have big singles, the 2000's rnb lady killer is dying.
You need to make hybrid trap music like Tiller and them.

Alsina had multiple songs in rotation, that's just as viable as 1 huge single

There's no garauntee the same opportunities will be there
