But they both dropped complete duds last year, buzz wise, sales wise and hits wise...

And both lost a lot( damn near all) of their relevance

Both albums were mediocre and a big step down from their previous albums

this is a discussion of the music, both artist went in a different direction and it hurt their Ascension in the game

I'm gonna say August, not that his album was by any means bad or anything but Miguel despite the diminished sales had a really dope album in Wildheart, it was just a departure from the sound he had made for himself.

don't listen to alsina so i don't know about his situation, but miguel, while dropping a cool album, didn't drop the album he needed to drop to ascend to the mass market or even to continue to grow in the "urban" market. that's cool, but i don't think that was his goal. he was on the cusp with kaleidoscope, at all the award shows drop kicking bytches and whatnot...but i think he can still "salvage" his career, dudes like alsina tho, he's a urban artist to the core and that's a fickle fanbase, might be a wrap for him...even chris brown and trey aren't poppin right now

There's no garauntee the same opportunities will be there
