Another entry in my series. Today we will discuss 112

1.)Do you think 112 has a classic album, how good is their discography?

2.)Where did they rank among R&B groups of their era/generation?

3.)How much credit would you give Diddy/Hitman production with their success?

4.)Do you consider them to be a legendary group?

Never understood how the worst singer in the group was the lead singer :dahell:

They spoke on this in a few interviews. He was not the lead singer at first. Puff felt like he had the most unique voice in the group and if he sang lead people would know instantly “this is a 112 joint” and standout. So he made that call.

EDIT: Here’s the explanation

I would say Part III is classic. I got them 2nd to Dru Hill for the era (mid to late 90s/early 2000s).

I used to hoop with Deron at LA Fitness. Was a chill dude. His personality would prevent him from being lead.

I never thought they were the best singers but saw them perform live at an HBCU battle of the bands and I was surprised how good they sound

In real time I viewed them as a step beneath Dru Hill & Jagged Edge.

The combo of Slim’s voice and Bad Boy’s commercially driven production made me look at them as less “soulful”/adult than the others groups.
