I listened to all three of these songs.....

this nikka can't sing :pachaha:, the floaty ass music is whats carrying him through these song
Won't disagree with you there, I mean that's the case for a lot of new R&B'ish acts these days but that doesn't stop me from digging the music unless they are downright unlistenable.

I usually dont give an opinion until I listen at least twice....So ima hold off on Teedra until that second listen.
Wasn't feeling that Tyrese,
Trey 2>>1 Both were good tho. Nothing Great
I guess im the only one who fukked with that New Jamie:yeshrug:

Miguel I didnt really feel it but may go back & listen.

I like Miguel, even though I think the album itself is far from flawless, he's doing his own thing more or less... He grows creatively with every album and you can hear how Prince and D'Angelo influenced him. The difference is that he is trying to make it sound futuristic and make it go well with the mainstream electronic thing compared to D' Angelo who's using a more organic approach (and that's why D' Angelo's my favourite!).

Trey Songz, never really liked his albums as a whole. This isn't any different. He is teaming up with hit making producers and seems to be in a flow. But I personally get tired of his non dynamic voice even though he surely has some catchy tracks on everyone of his albums. For me, he is nothing special.

Black Rose by Tyrese is okay, it's growing. I feel like it's one of the stronger R&B albums this year but it is still missing something. I would have wished an even more organic approach. You don't need to subtlety alter your voice with effects because it's 2015. I also feel like he doesn't have any genial timing when it comes to vocals in songs, he moans too long in Shame for example. This may be some very weird observations by me but I honestly never felt like he had any timing. He is one of those who has talent but no gift in my opinion. But I like his album.

Wildheart - 7/10 (had potential to reach higher)
Trigga Reloaded - 5.5/10(I can hear some good moments but I have to be partial here, I never liked Trey Songz, especially not hearing his non dynamic voice for 18 songs in a row)
Tyrese's album - 6.5-7/10 (also had potential to reach higher, I might rate it higher in the future though if it grows more on me, can't decide between 6.5 and 7 lol)

Thoughts on r&b this year so far? recommend some albums for the brehs and brehettes who might not be caught up and give a few ratings for what you've liked and disliked

Trey Songz- Intermission 1 & 2 ....3.5/5

Black-Rose1.jpg

Tyrese- Black Rose...4/5 [only gave it 1 listen so far but its :wow:]

Rico Love- Turn the lights on...... 2.5/5 need to give one more listen but there are songs that he rapped on that didn't need a rap verse, ruined the vibe of the song.

Hollywood-A-Story-of-A-Dozen-Roses1.jpeg

Jamie Foxx- Hollywood: A Story of a dozen roses....3.5/5 WAY better than his previous album

Miguel- Wildheart...4/5 [need to give it few more listens but this album is flames]

Damn! Dope ass album covers.

I'm seeing all the recommendations for the Teedra Moses album so gonna download that later and give that a listen. Still looking forward to the Weeknd album and Frank Ocean new album.
