My greatest memory of Bill Walton was him on a few runs down here near Mission Bay where I played a lot of pick-up ball back in the 2000s. He would run by a lot and he stopped one time to check us out playing ball. And he never stopped again. He immediately looked at our group and instantly was unimpressed. I even had a break away dunk while he was there, I looked to see if he saw, and he just trotted away like....:hhh: RIP to a basketball legend.

Walton was a legit player, but knee issues got him. However at the same time Walton was more about having fun.

Its sort of ironic in a way that Bill passes away with the death of the Pac-10/12; he embodied the Pacific Northwest culture, Deadhead fan for life.

I imagine he smoking one with Jerry Garcia now.

Rest now Bill, thanks for the laughs. :salute:

Bill was still entertaining as hell calling Pac 12 basketball games right up until the end of this past season, this is wild.
Yeah, that is crazy. He sounded like he was in good spirits too. Bill seems like the type that he was just thankful for the current moment on some live everyday like it is your last.
