When we lose an artist, we don’t cry because we knew them personally. We cry because they helped us know ourselves.

That's real shyt...

That's how music and even movies/TV used to be. It helped us expand our tastes outside of the immediate settings. Especially entertainment of old. RIP to one of the most soulful voices ever.

Bill Withers displayed the one thing that a lot of today's artists lack

Musical Integrity.

He never compromised his sound or his style for anyone or anything. He always knew who he was and came with a down to earth perspective that is sorely needed in today's society.

Rest In Beats and Thank You.

For real. He walked away back in the 80s and refuse to be a puppet. He went back to having a quiet life with a black wife, and stayed loyal to her until he died. Thats the sign of a good, loyal person that other good people need in their lives.

The amount of classics this man gave us :wow:

And I’m not even from that era, but just the memories I have of my mama and older folks in my family playing his music during car rides and stuff :mjcry:

We only got a few left out there. Like Stevie and ‘nem

Damn I remember making a Bill Withers reference just the other day , I think it was in reference to the Fresh Prince episode where Ain't no sunshine kept playing on the jukebox
