Pretty much.

You do need an eye for talent as well as taste for the design and professionalism. Otherwise you're just going to make yourself look like an idiot if you try and go all out with a website and the whole nine yards.

But hey, if Draft.net can do it you probably can too.

Agreed, their presentation really made them standout. The videos separated them from NBADraft.net and all of these other boards, they understood the younger generation of fans are visual learners and they did a great job of breaking player attributes in their videos.

Honestly, I'd do it but I just don't have the basketball knowledge to do it. The video editing is the easy part, the hard part is breaking down the player tendencies and my understanding of basketball is not on Schmitz's level, your level or @Poitier's :manny:

For sure, I'm fairly competent as an editor but I'm not advanced enough to do some things that I'd like to. But I'm learning more as I go. I wouldn't agree that my basketball knowledge is up there either, I haven't been around long enough to study the game like some others but it's enjoyable either way.

Like you said, just cop a Synergy account and get to work. When a player you like doesn't pan out, go back and try to find out why. Same with a player you don't like that ends up being good. Go back a couple years and see what makes a player a bust or sleeper, and see how the game has evolved to where a player like Jahlil Okafor is now useless or how Isaiah Briscoe would be trash in any era.

There are a lot of resources to understand the game, all you need is time and effort. You're already a leg up with the editing.

You got the video part. That's the hardest part for those of us who do understand the game.

I told @Brooklynzson a while back that I'd be down to do something in that realm.

I have been working on some things though. Was going to do it with DX still around, but I wasn't planning anything major unless it took off, just as a hobby.

If The Coli wanted to do something like that then @Poitier should be the first person they contact. He has a lot more experience than I do and has given me some great advice.

But I don't want to speak for him, he's a busy dude and has successful things going on already.

Just opens the lane up for my brothers @Poitier @str8up even more..:blessed:
We need to create our own Draft site.

@Flight
@Malta
@tremonthustler1
@Walt We can always use good writing talent
@Poitier
I know I am missing about 6-8 guys who are dope at this but what do you think?

I got the funds. We can seed and invest in something dope.

I just brought a domain name. Ya'll come up with the content strategy. My idea owner is to mass market, kill the SEO practices, offer a clean and fast template as different regions will be viewing this and have great content. Now, at some point, ya'll gonna have to travel and go to these games live. That being said, covering these athletes in depth, covering small things like wingspan to 2nd jump will be valuable. We got to do better than what Aran doing at NBAdraft.net but we don't have the funding to do what Complex did for DX yet. That being said, we can build something great.

Maybe, and this will seem totally nuts.....but if you like someone's content maybe pay for it?

I'm sure there are a lot of people here who wouldn't mind paying. The problem is ESPN's site will probably limit their content and lack a lot of the features that made me check DX's site.
