I never listened to The Love Movement, it's probably a decent album, Find My Way was aight
I think J Dilla is a talented producer although I would also like to understand why all these artists worship him (not really)
I don't think I could willingly watch Rappaport's documentary
I have a thing about Beats Rhymes and Life. It was the first and only album I bought when it dropped and with my hard earned money. In a way it was a labor of love for lil old me.
Listening to it was in a sense, traumatic, witnessing the break up of your favorite group was not wavy for my young self and I blamed Tip and Dilla for pushing Phife Diggy out so that they can partake in their hipsterish ways
That's my Phife Dawg story
RIP Five Foot Assassin

Plus Dilla had production on Phifes solo.
The breakup was all Q-Tip, Phife even had some bars for him on the ventilation LP and promo leading the up to it (freestyle on rap city), I remember that vividly.

You're misconstruing the story, it is not an objective history or review of ATCQ but MY anecdote of who I thought was the glue of the group. Otherwise imo they would have just been a better Digable Planets and my regular ass self would never have given them a second take.at the bolded

Been saying for years we need a HIP HOP hall of fame with an "honors" ceremony the night before inductionGot to start paying homage to these rappers while they're still here
