all these heart attacks bruh...you can't tell me all of our well off members outchea eating that bad. I could understand Kimbo cause the steroids, but this dude shouldn't be dying at 46. If you black nowadays, it seems like you either dying of a heart attack or an "overdose"

lso I ran across an article a little while back asking the question of whether or not athletes of a certain height(basketball players) are more predisposed to heart problems and dying at an earlier age

whenver I see Shaq gaining weight, I just wonder sometimes about him.

You don't see many older ppl walking around at his height

RIP. 46 years old, while not young, is too early to die like that.

Sucks that he was traded from the lakers just befre their three peats, and ironically he was playing on the clippers from 2000-01 to 2002-03, while the lakers added 2 championships to their history. Just bad timing man :to:

Breh this shyt hit home with me because I was just thinking about Sean Rooks randomly the other day.

Also I ran across an article a little while back asking the question of whether or not athletes of a certain height(basketball players) are more predisposed to heart problems and dying at an earlier age

I can't help but think of that when I see a story like this.

It's true. Once you get close to 7 feet in height that puts increased strain on the heart, and as such these individuals have a lower life expectancy than the general public

I remember happening to see his son while channel-hopping during the conference/NCAA tourneys a couple months ago. Saw the last name and wondered if there was a relation, and that's when the announcers mentioned Sean was his dad. Plays for Cal, IIRC.

RIP to the brother.

One of the most common causes of sudden death in tall athletes is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which has a genetic predisposition. Sounds like this or a basic heart attack is probably the cause with Rooks. Very sad at such a young age. Watch your diet, don't smoke, and enjoy the time you have friends.
