actually, I dont think it has to do with the sex stuff. I always compared him to Smokey, but to me he surpassed Smokey a while ago. He should be viewed as the GOAT, but he isnt because we dont know everything he has done musically. Like everyone knew what Smokey did. He was the Motown sound for a while and we know about all the people he wrote for....but you can be listening to a song right now and not know that R. Kelly did the shyt. He literally has worked with EVERYONE. I was watching LIFE again a couple weeks ago and took time to view the music credits and didnt know that he wrote and produced the title track by KC and JoJo, the Destiny's Child song, and Fortunate by Maxwell. We know about his songs, but the dude has literally written and produced bangers by everyone in black music for a good 20 year span.
