Yeah. I used to think pedos were exclusive to CACs and Hispanics, because it was rarely talked about openly amongst ourselves.

But the more black women I've spoken to, the more I realize how many have been victims and are suffering silently. Especially when their perpetrators were mainly family members who should’ve been protecting them.

So I understand having patience. There are few outlets outside of social media for black women to express and channel their hurt. Y’all don’t have the luxury of being openly vulnerable when the label of being “strong” has been associated with you.

Why not get the rights for free? Aaliyahs family is in the business. So they could have bought the rights as a unrelated business move. Saying they took the rights to stay quiet makes it look a little more slimey on their part. Not really fair to demonize the family without facts.
