They were on tour together while prince was working on new music, the keyboard that prince stored all his beats on was taken by rick james which became his street songs album
RKelly even tho Stevie is a whole other beast.
Prince bit Rick James and ate well off of that Minneapolis sound. Dude got very iffy in the mid 90s but was a heck of a showman and guitarist right up until he died. His creative directing skills are underrated and he's a digital music pioneer.
