I still don't think people recognize how important it was for TNA to book him to win the NWA World Heavyweight title considering the history of the business and the title. They made that decision and nobody has before (Bobo Brazil's title reign wasn't recognized) and nobody has since.
They purposely decided to make history and book him to win the title twice. This is big, and it's important, but people don't recognize stuff until a person is dead and gone.
No other black man has done it. Ron Killings is a legend, even if the NWA World title isn't seen as important these days. He's done something that should be recognized and TNA should be applauded for having the bravery and foresight in Ron to even book the title change in the first place.
Because WWE purposely didn't bring this up about him it's been seen as nothing for years, but it's not nothing, it's an accomplishment. However, it starts to look funny when you purposely book a man like that into a comedy role for years. You decide purposely not to inform the audience how important that title is and how significant the accomplishment is.
Notice they mention the title when bringing up Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and others though. No matter how you feel about the NWA when it was under TNA the title runs are in the history books. You can't erase the accomplishment.
