It would likely happen to a few big cities on the eastcost. So say that we were forced to move to the rural west.

In such a scenario the government would have us on lock down like you wouldn't believe. It would be FEMA camps and RFID chips being forced on people like rape. I really believe that. This treatment would be reserved for the neediest. "Want food?" "Accept the chip." Ofcourse they'll just act as if it's for humanitarian reasons.

For those who have the means to sustain themselves out west the military (more like foreign troops flown in from countries that hate Americans) there will be door to door shake downs. The media will call them something like "check ups". These troops will be stripping citizens of food and materials they may have to live on in the name of doing it for the common good. There will be no where to effectively run. You either will have to accept the Beast or die fighting.

I never played fallout 4, but the race relations in Fallout 3 seem really unrealistic. I seriously doubt that people would be in multi-racial villages like in Fallout 3.


the vast majority of people already live in self-defined and self-segregated areas. We are only tolerant of each because of extreme social and legal consequences of being intolerant. Take away those social and legal consequences and most people will be outwardly racist towards each other.

I grew up in a multi-racial city and went to schools wherein no majority race existed. Racial lines were never crossed. Racial violence happened nearly everyday, and racial tensions impacted daily life.

Look at the prison system-- highly segregated with unending violence and racial wars. In world of anarchy, these strong violent men would rule large areas of territories.

i think the higher classes would be protected by the military while the lower classes fall into tribal fueled anarchy

i mean im assuming all the leadership is gone then it would be all for all

i assume the national guard would be able to hold it together before their members start doing their own sh!t

true, but typically the higher classes also have a crap load of guns, resources, etc
also the military has the most guns of anyone and we'd probably become a military state real quick in which the higher classes would be protected (to preserve civilization) at the expense of everyone else

the thing about chaos is that its easy to predict what will happen

people with guns kill people without guns

in chaos will people follow orders or want to do their own sh!t?

Ever read "One Second After"? well 90% of the people in this country are dead after a year, and that was just if the grid goes down. You include nukes and...

Don't think any nukes would be wasted on cities besides DC. Take out enough infrastructure and places like NYC will devour themselves.

Most jet fighters wont be worth the metal theyre made of ..not just because of lack of jet fuel.and regular maintenance but because there will be no high tech guidance systems,satellites or ground radar...

you cant fly them just by looking out the tiny little widow it needs a constant stream of guidance,communication and target data.

Now Helicopters on the other hand ....that would be the pilot licence worth having...they run on regular gas,you can fly by sight and land almost anywhere

I suspect it would be so bad race wont be an issue..once the cannibalism and poor sanitation diseases kick in like typhoid and cholera people wont be trusting skin color like that.
