The assumptions and stereotypes about the south never cease to amaze.
:snoop:

That straight:mjpls: from so called brothas.

Yes more overt racism exists here. :manny:
There's still way more relative autonomy to be sought in the south for a black man/woman or family than there is anywhere else in the continental U.S. From owning large tracts of land (gotta eat), to controlling local politics, and developing and supporting black owned businesses... the south is really the last hope for even a semblance of some sort of sustained movement by us.

Nikkas are so afraid of the prospect of not being a small minority surrounded by cacs that they just don't know what to do when you start suggesting we move to places where we comprise the majority (or at least a bigger portion of the population) and actually run a little something.

Blacks scared of creating their own from scratch. Embracing their separation from natural adaptations (heat).

Many don't want to move down here cause honestly....lol...they can't drive.

When kkk would come for nikkas in the day I would wonder why the blacks couldn't repel them. It's because nikkas like to spread out. When you're a minority you need to concentrate your numbers.

It's funny because the least racist white people I dealt with were from the South, not saying I didn't witness or be a victim to overt racism a few times but overall I preferred that over the faux-liberal racism you get out in Jerz and besides that the South has pockets of Black communities that thrive and work together (I know there's quite a few in the midwest and west too) but either way I'm probably moving to Georgia when I retire.

funny thing is if there was ever going to be a "black utopia" in america, the best place for it to happen would be the south.

* cheaper property than somewhere like new york city where black people up there don't own anything.

* already established hbcu's so black kids don't have to go to predominantly white colleges

* accepted segregation to where racist white people are fine with black people having their own communities as long as they stay out of white communities.

NYC -> DC
Because I'm from Brooklyn, NY. There are very few cities I feel comfortable in, and they tend to be in the northeast and on the west coast.

Southern cities I've been to are very suburban feel. Outside of "uptown" Charlotte for example, nothin' but long, twisted roads. Everything is 30 miles that way, 30 miles this way...

I'm considerin' Charlotte only because my lady got family there, but damn. Going to see grandma, 30-40 minutes. Going to pick up my boy, 30-40 minutes. Need somethin' from the store real quick? 20-30 minute trip. If we do it, we'll be livin' "uptown", close to what's happenin', but everyone else will still be 30 miles that way.

I've become accustomed to conveniences the south can't provide. Easy access.
