Let me preface this by saying I'm a light-skinned Dominican not a CAC.. and by light skinned I mean white; nobody ever guesses Im Dominican.

Me and my puerto rican wife have NEVER exposed our 3 year old son to any type of racism. We've tried teaching him to treat everybody equally and what not, but without us doing or saying anything, he just prefers 'gray' kids over 'brown' kids He just naturally prefers to play and be around people "the same color" as him. I mean we correct him and tell him stop being like that but its obviously natural. Hes been around black people his whole life. Some of my best friends that have been around him since he was a baby are black. I mean hes not mean or wants nothing to do with them; but hes just got that "You're different and therefore I dont like you as much" attitude. We interviewed babysitters for him, one of which was a really nice black woman, and he says he doesnt want to stay with the brown babysitter.

you don't have to teach your child to be racist, they have eyes and ears just like you do. racism is ingrained in all parts of western culture, from the cartoons to the movies, to people's basic interactions with each other, whether those interactions are completely innocent or not, kids pick up on EVERYTHING.

this is why in a doll test, very young kids, black and white, prefer the white dolls majority of the time because in their limited experience on earth, they've already learned who's powerful, desirable, loved, beautiful, pretty, and who's not.

I agree with you in principle that this of he favouritism is natural. But it is primitive too as the child merely makes the connection out of familiarity, not reason. As humans grow, layer our simple thought processes with reason. A man may want to hurt everyone that verbally insults him, but because that man can use reason, he knows that physically hurting someone over a verbal affront is unjustifiable. An animal or a young child simply does what they feel like.

In real life we are expected to overcome our simple thought processes and work towards a common ideal. So it doesn't matter what natural predisposes us to do--whether it be to steal, kill or rape--we must restrain ourselves and do what we think is right.

He is making a bold claim but in truth research supports his assertion. The video you posted has nothing to do with anything. The video does not measure anything scientific; it merely asks children some questions without asking the same children to compare anything.

Actually there is academic research which supports what he says and that counts as "concrete evidence". And it's only some issues which have research which refute claims. Moreover research differs in quality so not every null or positive result is real. For example, in some observational cases cigarette smoking does not reduce life expectancy. This is seemingly the case when we compare the life expectancy of some European countries to third world countries which don't smoke as much. However this "conclusion" is misleading. In trial individual study, smoking does decrease life expectancy - it's just that it doesn't reduce life expectancy as much as other factors associated with third world countries. But again the video you post doesn't say anything. It's not scientific.

Nah..I've been drawn to Latina girls since I was a kid. Didn't find white girls attractive until they changed for the better in the late 90s.
