I understand where you're coming from. I guess it could be argued that the creation of classism later led to racism.

if you're white, you probably think we're in a post race society anyway therefore classism is a bigger issue because "it effects everybody"

Haha, don't let this dude fool ya'll into thinking these two societal constructs are different or mutually exclusive. Classism is what Europeans imposed on their people before they discovered peoples outside their lands that had notable physical differences. Once they were able to divide the human race through physical traits Racism was created -created to serve classism. Classism will not end until Racism/White Supremacy is defeated.
