I remember a Droopy cartoon where Spike set a cabin on fire and yelled out 'help' like a chick in distress so Droopy could go inside and get burned up. Droopy came outta nowhere, ran inside then ran out with a PAWG...had Spike like

So Spike runs in the burning cabin, tryna see if he could get a PAWG too....and the shyt quickly burns to the ground with him inside, leaving him standing there all black with big lips like you described. Droopy comes running back, goes to him and says "Hey, blackie.....got any more babes in there?"


I was like

I've seen every episode of Droopy on Cartoon Network back in the day, they must've edited it out

i remember this one, this episode was included in a looney tunes collection video we bought in the mid 90s. bugs and the hunter end the episode with a dice game where bugs wins all the hunters clothes.

Anyone remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Elmer Fudd is a mountie? At the end, he finally catches Bugs and his men are about to execute him. Elmer asks Bugs if he has a last wish....and Bugs starts singing "I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!".......then the cartoon abruptly ended

When I was younger, I always wondered why that cartoon ended so abruptly........until I went on youtube years later and saw the REAL ending

Yeah, that's one that stands out. What about the joint where Sylvester accidentally blows himself up with a bomb then turns black and has big red lips, then says "Uh oh back to the kitchen, I smell something burning!" in a stepin fetchit-like voice.

Lol... you can tell the youngsters here. They started editing out the racist aspects of the old Warner Bros. and MGM cartoons in recent years. When I used to watch them coming up, all the way until my teens I believe, they showed them unedited.

It used to offend me a bit, but I don't think they should've ever edited them. Let kids see this nation's racist past.

There was a ton of Tom & Jerry cartoons with the recurring character of an overweight black nanny whose face they never showed and she was always yelling at Tom with a country black dialect. Now they've turned her into a slim white woman and voiced her over.

They used to have some really racist cartoons about American Indians too. They were always portrayed as dumb and bumbling and were antagonists.

I'm only 22 and I still ahve some of this stuff on VHS. I didnt really think about it cause i was 8 and shyt but i remember that blackface lookin dude from elmer fudd and being like

I saw this cartoon one before, but not that part.....I never even realized anything was cut out ....I just thought they quickly transitioned to the next scene after the explosion for comedic effect

I remembered another one, too: the one where Spike the Dog is singing opera and a magician pretends to be the conductor, while using his magic wand to fukk with him. At one point, a pissed-off member of the audience drops an anvil on Spike, and right after that they immediately show him already squashed down, and one of the rabbits are jacking him up to normal height....they didn't show the anvil actually hitting him. Now THAT was an awkward, noticeable edit

yeah, I would say im surprised that some of you did not know this, but I always forget a lot of you are 20 and under.


They used to show these cartoons all the time on syndication after school. Unedited and all. You had the black people with really dark skin and big pink lips. I remember one Bugs cartoon when he went to Africa and they had bones in their noses. All South East Asian people had big buck teeth and slanted eyes. Native Americans were savages, and of course Speedy Gonzalez.

Daffy was supposed to be an uppity black person as well. Thats why he had the lisp.

The racism and violence of those cartoons are astounding. Its amazing that I can recall watching these cartoons as a kid after school.

Disney had some very racist cartoons too.
