I work at Wal-Mart and I'm starting to suspect that my supervisor(a eastern european) is a racist.

There's been two incidents that made me believe that he's a racist.

1- A few weeks ago, he wanted me to drop off boxes at a certain area in the store near the grocery area.

I wasn't too sure at which exact area, so he told me to drop it off near the "bananas".

That in itself doesn't sound too suspect, it did raise my white supremacy antenna, but it wasn't that suspect, but then the second incident happened a few nights ago

2 - As we were getting ready to finish up our shift, he asked me in which area I wanted to do stocking.

I wasn't too sure, so I started thinking and then he asked if I wanted to stock the bananas. He then looked at my co-worker (who I'll be using as a witness when talking to my manager) and then started laughing.

Now if you know anything about my position, you'll know that we dont work nowwhere NEAR the grocery area.

All we stock is Pets, Paper Goods and Chemicals.

So now I'm convinced that he's a racist. What also made me suspicious of him is in which the manner he talks to me.

Many racists will take on a condescending, patronizing, disposition when talking to a Black person, and he always talks to me like that.

Allot of times he'll even treat me like I'm a little pet of his or something. Not in a blatant disrespectful manner, but in a childlike, condescending manner.

Do any of yall have any suggestions on what to do, or what to expect when talking about this situation to my manager.

Now this situation isn't hazardous to my work experience or anything.

Like, he doesn't harrass me or anything. But I just want to make sure that he doesn't get away with what he said. I want him to be punished for it.

Find out if your state is a one-party or two-party consent to record state. Meaning you can record the other party without them knowing, or both parties have to consent to being recorded. If that doesnt work collect info *in writing* where he is doing this and your case should make itself.

You also may wanna peep this thread and perhaps call into the show when they have the compensatory call in and see what they offer.

Do people here listen to the Context of White Supremacy? (C.O.W.S)

My apologies if my suggestions are redundant to your knowledge.

Yeah, the second incident confirmed it IMO. To look at your co-worker and laugh makes it seem like an inside cac joke, some thinly-veiled bullshyt.

Is your manager buddy-buddy with this cac supervisor?

I'm not too sure but the interesting thing is that I approached the assistant manager today about the issue

and he gave me the vibe like he didn't want to deal with it.

But he ended up telling me that we would talk about it later before he left

and that never ended up happening, which I wasn't surprised by.

I think it is easier to get that process of giving him problems if you can have some emails out some documented instances of his racism. Then gather that testimony of other coworkers you trust and bring that forward. Dude is trash so it shouldn't be difficult, doesn't mean it won't be a challenge.

Don’t doub your intuition when it comes to racists. Too many times I thought “that motherfukker couldn’t be saying what I think I’m saying” and just about every time something else happened to confirm it
Facts.

don't even speak to your manager, go straight to HR. write down everything that has happened as notes. make sure, when you speak with HR you let them know how this has traumatized you.
